Manchester’s aspiring developers and digital media specialists are to be offered a unique opportunity to take part in the conceptualisation and development of a functional iPhone application. The project will see Trafford College students and Tecmark iPhone developers join forces for three months in order to create an iPhone app for a Tecmark client.
Mobile applications are proving cutting edge in the world of digital marketing and for the talented young developers at Trafford College, the opportunity will engage them fully in the creation of an app right from thinking up the idea and the functionality to applying this to meet the requirements of a business client.
Tecmark director, Kevin Jones notes that “The number of enquiries we are receiving in regard to iPhone app development projects is incredible. This is such a massively growing area with lots of potential and plenty of scope for creativity. We’re really looking forward to working with a group of innovative, young developers on one of the projects.”
The collaboration will see Tecmark developers offer workshops at Trafford College before students are given a brief around which to think up their own application idea. Students will then have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to Tecmark’s directors, Richard Heyes and Kevin Jones, before receiving feedback with which to further develop their concept. Tecmark will then invite the students into its city centre offices, where the most promising ideas will be revisited. The ultimate aim is to turn one of these concepts into a functioning application for a client.
The opportunity will provide hands on experience to students in a real business environment and an insight into the ever developing world of mobile applications and their uses in digital marketing.
